Technic is the theme where the marketing photo tells you the least, because the whole point is what the model does in your hands, not how it sits in a box shot. So this hub is organised around function, not subject. We care whether the steering has feel, whether the suspension has travel, whether the gearbox is a real mechanism or a decorative one, and we are blunt when a set is a static shell with a token function bolted on.

The pattern across the recent releases is a clear split: the working-vehicle sets that assemble their drivetrain as a teachable sub-build, and the licensed supercars that are gorgeous and largely static. Both are valid buys, but you should know which you are paying for before you open the box, because the build experience could not be more different.

Our current bench pick in the mid-size bracket is the Unimog, because it stacks several genuine functions on one chassis and the crane articulates for real. The megacar-tier releases win on shelf presence and parts count but ask a lot more of your time and space for a model you will mostly display.
