Converting between the two modes is a genuine bit of play, and getting two distinct forms from one model adds value that the piece count alone does not show. It is the kind of feature that keeps a set in rotation because the toy is two things depending on the day, and a child enjoys performing the change.

The trade is the one every transformer makes: neither the dragon nor the mech is quite as clean or as convincing as it would be as a fixed build, because the parts have to serve both roles. Both modes read clearly and hold together fine, but a discerning eye will see the compromises in the joints and proportions. It is a fair price for the two-in-one play, but it is a real one.

The parts are a reasonable mix, though some are dedicated to making the transformation work, which softens their flexibility for other builds. Value is fair rather than good.
